So why did we name our website Practical Actuary? Because we believe in a practical approach to pension plan design, administration, and service, ensuring that the Pension Plan sponsor's retirement needs are met or exceeded.

Practical means creative design, treating each sponsor as unique, so there are no cookie cutter models. Practical also means giving the sponsor good alternatives, and the right answers to meet their needs. Practical also means providing information and resources in an easy to understand format that both the Pension Plan Professional and Plan Sponsor will be able to understand. Our goal is to provide both the plan sponsor and pension plan professional with the best information, resources, and education on defined contribution plans (i.e. profit sharing plans, 401(k) plans), and defined benefit plans (i.e. cash balance plans, regular defined benefit plans, and money purchase plans).
